Description : Savannah United Methodist Church members were organized in 1786 as the Savannah Creek Methodist Society, but the first church was not started until 1787. Records show that Isaac Jackson was the first pastor at their church, Jackson's Meeting House. County records show a deed for Savannah Church dated 1819 from a Wm. Williams. In 1873, the church was a log structure located on what was known as the Luther Place near the Grassy Island Road.
