Description	:	The church of Medemblik is mentioned for the first time in a document from 1118, in which the bishop of Utrecht donated the church goods of Medemblik to the canons of St. Maarten. The associated church building probably stood on the same place as the current church. The construction of the current church started in 1404. The church and the tower were completed in the course of the 15th century. In 1517 Medemblik was raided and set on fire by a gang of Geldersen led by Grote Pier.
