Briefly, the fabric of the church has some existing 14thC & 15thC origins but was greatly remodelled 1872. There are internal images of the church searchable via internet. Worthwhile to note the church building is presently (2021) on the Heritage Risk Register due to damp problems which are visible internally to the west end. Internal plastering is said to be at risk of falling off. Also noted during a visit, some of the wood plank flooring to the pews has also suffered and are loose with evidence of movement and ‘bounce' when walking on. Internally the church floor has been laid to tile which may have obscured any ‘floor slab' type grave markers. Unusually for Devon there are two (now incomplete) 15thC brasses set within floor slab markers in the north transept along with what was probably a 16thC/17thC floor slab marker to Pearce but now set in the wall of the north transept. Further memorial plaques some of which may be cenotaphs are also present within the church. Two 19thC/20thC stained glass lights on the north side of the chancel commemorate two individuals buried elsewhere. Two more lights in the south aisle memorialise four more individuals. Churchyard (Cemetery) Online subscription resources for official records of burials in this parish cover 1691-1896 which are the total dates available. The markers are set out in quite a regimented north-south alignment, the alignment of mid-18thC markers has been continued by 19thC & 20thC markers. However, there are occasionally randomly placed 18thC markers between the rows which are difficult to explain unless they have been moved or the regimented alignment post-dates their placement and ignores earlier burials. Another oddity is that a significant number of markers have inscriptions on either the west or east facing side. Again, possible that markers have been moved and re-set as footmarkers which may also explain the seemingly random placed markers between the rows. A small number of markers are now propped up against the north and northwest sides of the church and some lie against the northern boundary wall of the churchyard.
