Description	:	St. Lawrence Protestant Burial Ground aka 'Old Burial Ground' aka 'Dorchester Cemetery' aka 'Dufferin Park Cemetery' opened in 1797 and was abandoned when full in 1854. Prominent local figure James McGill was buried there. It soon became derelict, and when the city expropriated it in 1875 to create Dufferin Park, a small portion of remains were exhumed and re-interred at Mount Royal Cemetery by their families, but most remained. Dufferin Park was expropriated in the 1970s (along with the entire block) for the building of the massive Guy-Favreau Complex. Remains continue to be found periodically during construction...
