Description : Tsiigehtchic ("mouth of the iron river") (officially the Charter Community of Tsiigehtchic) is a Gwich'in community located at the confluence of the Mackenzie and the Arctic Red River. The community was formerly known as Arctic Red River, until 1 April 1994. The cemetery is located next to a abandoned Catholic church on a bluff as you drive up the hill from the river ferry. The church and graves are sliding into the river as the melting of the permafrost has accelerated over the last 20 years.
