Description	:	The Ward Cemetery was established in 1852 when Samuel Ward donated the land. The occasion of the first burial was that of Mrs. Emma Scroggin, a lady from England who was visiting the Ward Family. When her death occurred, while she was in America, transportation to her homeland was virtually impossible, so she was buried in a spot under the trees along Thunder Creek, as she had loved the trees and the cool shade.
