Description	:	William "Bill" Harry Stock, age 79, of Columbus, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012. He was born to the late Harry and Merna Stock in Lone Tree, IA, on June 27, 1933. Bill received his bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University. After graduating, Bill served in the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed in Houma, LA, and Point Barrow, AK. A Project Manager for the... Read More	William "Bill" Harry Stock, age 79, of Columbus, passed away on Sunday, September 2, 2012. He was born to the late Harry and Merna Stock in Lone Tree, IA, on June 27, 1933. Bill received his bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering from Iowa State University. After graduating, Bill served in the U.S. Air Force. He was stationed in Houma, LA, and Point Barrow, AK. He was also certified to be an air traffic controller. After serving and leaving the USAF as a captain, Bill worked as a Senior Design Engineer for Rockwell International in Columbus, Ohio. A Project Manager for the B-1 Bomber, he holds several patents for his design work. After over 32 years of dedicated service, Bill retired and his wife Joyce let him buy an RV. They traveled across the U.S, visiting 48 states. Bill loved roses, birds, and wood-crafting. He had the best rose bushes and a perfect green thumb. He enjoyed building bird feeders, and nut houses to keep the squirrels away from the birds. He loved rooting for the OSU Buckeyes. He doted on his grandsons and loved teaching them how to build things and cherished every minute with them. Bill will truly be missed and never forgotten. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Ann Stock; son, Daniel Stock, and brother-in-law, Warren McGinness. He is survived by his loving daughters, Kim (Kelly Foster) Stock Foster and Debby (Joe Kiefer) Stock Kiefer; grandsons, Grant Foster and Will Foster; siblings, Betty (Alvin) Schnoebelen of Lone Tree, IA, and Margaret McGinness of Chicago, IL; many nieces, nephews, and extended family. A private gathering to celebration his life will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Bill's memory may be made to the Columbus Park of Roses Foundation, 1111 E. Broad St. Suite 101, Columbus, OH 43205 or the Alzheimer's Association, 1379 Dublin Rd, Columbus, OH 43215 or at www.alz.org/centralohio.
