Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services. Memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association or the Lone Tree First Responders in Betty's name. Online condolences for the family may be sent to www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. Betty Beryl Stock was born on March 4, 1924, in Lone Tree, Iowa the daughter of Harry A. and Merna I. (Bergen) Stock. Betty was united into marriage on February 3, 1944 in Iowa City to Alvin G. Schnoebelen. Betty and Alvin were the owners and operators of the Schnoebelen Service Station from 1945 to 1982, she pumped gas, was the secretary and bookkeeper. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Lone Tree, Altar and Rosary Society, American Auxiliary, and the Fireman Auxiliary. She also enjoyed camping, boating, cards, painting, making crafts, knitting, cooking and most of all spending time with family and friends. Betty will be deeply missed by her husband, Alvin Schnoebelen, of Lone Tree; three children, Douglas Schnoebelen of Wapello, Karen Christianson (David) of Davenport and Robert Schnoebelen (Mary Jo) of Lone Tree; four grandchildren, Nicci, Jessica, Megan and Matthew; seven great grandchildren, Teagan, Jack, Griffin, Cash, Shane, Adelinn and Kinlee; and one sister, Margaret McGinness.
