Description	:	Funeral service for Lieutenant William M. Milliken with full military honors, will be held from the Baird Funeral Home in Eureka Sunday, June 5, at 2:30. The body willl arrive in Eureka Saturday from Europe. Lieut. Milliken was killed in action July 7, 1944 over Germany. He was stationed in England for about two months during which time he served as pilot on a B-24 bomber. He was commissioned a Second Lieutenant on December 5, 1943 at Marfa Army Air Field, Texas and left for overseas duty on May 1944. William M. Milliken was born March 8, 1922 in Wichita. He spent his boyhood days in Eureka, and was graduated from Eureka High School with the class of 1940 and was a member of the National Honor Society. He later attended Colorado University at Boulder for about two years. He was then employed in the war undustry at Salt Lake City, Utah. He had been a member of the Eureka Christian Church since childhood. Lieut. Milliken's mother died when he was a small boy. He is survived by his father, W.E. Milliken; five brothers, Elmo, Herman, Robert, Ray and David Milliken; and one sister, Mrs. Rugh Piatt. From Eureka Herald 2 June 1949 page 1
