He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson Clint Cavin, two great grandsons Charlie Deitrich, Billy Cavin Berry, one brother James Cavin, three sisters Irene Flanegin, Cathy Graves and Ruth York. He is survived by his wife Geraldine, three daughters Sandra (Mike) Hammes of Coralville, Jane (Ronnie) Deitrich of Cedar Rapids, Linda (Dennis) Johnston of Ottumwa, two sons Andy (Bonnie) Cavin of Sigourney, and Dan (Jae) Cavin of Hayesville, nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one sister Beradine Laud of Des Moines.
