Mr Crowell was born in Dennis 71 years ago,one of five children of Aaron and Fear (Hall) Crowell.Two sisters, Mrs Cynthia H Stone and Mrs Mary H Howes are now living.He came of a long-lived race, his father and grandfather as well as other members of the family,living into the nineties. When a young man Mr Crowell went to New York where he was engaged in the commission business and where he married his wife Miss Ida Wisewell. Retiring from business some twenty-five years ago he returned to his native town,occupying the home of his father.He soon became identified with the interests of the cape and was elected to the Board of Selectman in Dennis and for some years has been chairman, bringing to the office the experience of a good business man.He also engaged in the fish business and in later years has been a cranberry buyer.At the time of his death he was president of the Southeastern District Association of Boards of Health. Mr Crowell is survived by his wife and two daughters, the older of whom married Lincoln Crowell,the younger Dr Walter Westwood a dentist. The funeral of Mr Crowell was held in the church Sunday afternoon,the pastor, Rev J C Williams officiating.The church was crowded with relatives,friends and townsmen, as well as those from adjoining towns, called together to mourn the loss of one beloved and respected by all,so suddenly taken from the activities of a busy life. additional information courtesy of RJensen in the forums.
