He was in the enjoyment of usual health to the very hour of his death. He had retired with no intimation of anything wrong, and his wife hearing a moan shortly after, spoke to him and receiving no answer, on attempting to rouse him, found he was dying and before assistance could be called he was dead. His funeral took place from the Dunkard church at 11 a. m. on Tuesday, Rev. Doolittle preaching the sermon. Mr. Price was born in Clark county, Ohio, in August, 1813. In 1826 he moved with his parents to Carroll county, Ind., locating near Rockfield, and in 1845 he removed to White county, when there were only six settlers in Jackson township, and opened a farm about two miles northeast of Idaville, where he resided until about four years ago, when he and his wife retired from the farm to town. he was married June 2, 1835 to Mary Hancock, by whom he had seven children, and he lived to see them all married and comfortably settled. He united with the Christian church when he was eighteen years old and lived an orderly life. Thus has passed away another well known citizen - another "Old Settler" must be dropped from the rapidly failing roll - on who was strictly and original pioneer of this region. Jan. 30. - Our Community was shocked to learn of the sudden and unexpected death of Uncle Aaron Price, a very old and highly esteemed citizen, whose demise occurred at 9 o’clock on Saturday night. He was hearty and well on Saturday, and was walking around our streets in the best of spirits. Mr. Price was born in Ohio in 1813. He moved to Carroll county in 1826, when it was yet a wilderness. He lived there a few years and then removed to White county, where he has resided for 37 years. He leaves a wife and six children, all grown. “Uncle Aaron” was a splendid citizen, and all who knew him had a high opinion of his many good qualities.
