Description	:	Abraham D. Fisher was born in New Columbia, Pa., August 20, 1839, at which place he grew to manhood and February 10, 1863, he was united in marriage to Barbara Diffenderfer. In the spring of 1865, they moved to Constantine, Michigan, and in 1871, they came to Nebraska and settled near Fairmont and spent their active lives in this vicinity. They rapidly imbibed the western spirit of fraternity and as such soon found a large host of friends. Fisher was born in New Columbia, Pa., August 20, 1839, at which place he grew to manhood and February 10, 1863, he was united in marriage to Barbara Diffenderfer. In the spring of 1865, they moved to Constantine, Michigan, and in 1871, they came to Nebraska and settled near Fairmont and spent their active lives in this vicinity. They rapidly imbibed the western spirit of fraternity and as such soon found a large host of friends. One daughter, two sons and eight grandchildren survive him: Mrs. Susie James of Grafton, Preston D. Fisher of Beaver Crossing, and Leroy H. Fisher of Oxford. He is the last of a family of fourteen brothers and sisters and spent a most active life until the last fifteen years, during which time he was an invalid. His wife preceded him to that journey from which no traveler ever returns a year ago last march. The last year and a half he spent with his son, Preston, at Beaver Crossing, and a part of this time he was in the hospital at Seward from which place the spirit took its long flight. He was most active during his life in civil affairs and in his early life united with the Methodist Episcopal church and his latter days faithfully renewed his vows. His integrity was unquestioned and his choices proved his bent toward righteousness, to which his large host of friends are witnesses. His sufferings were intense during the last years, and his deepest yearning was to be delivered that he might ascend to that realm beyond this vale of probation and therefore he placed himself in the hands of Him who doeth all things well. May this life continued to re-echo in the lives of his children and children's children. Thus, worn and weary from the world of choices and realm of trials, he has laid off his armor, to enter the realm of Peace where the wicked cease from troubling and the weary be at rest. The funeral took place from the Methodist Episcopal church Wednesday afternoon, the pastor, Charles P. Lang officiating, with interment in the family lot in the Fairmont cemetery.
