Abe served in the War Between the states in the 54th VA Inf and also in the Cavalry. He owned a large farm and had a large apple orchard. Although, his tombstone had "Captain" before his name, he was not a captain, it was merely an affectionate term friends and neighbors used when speaking to him. |
