Auburn Courier, Dekalb CO., IN, November 30, 1911 FATHER IS DEAD KINSFOLK DYING Abraham Beatty, Formerly of Jackson Township, Died Saturday At His Home Near Angola After A Long Illness Two Sisters Are Very Low Mrs. Samuel Maurer of This City and Mrs. Simanton, Sisters of the Deceased Are Very Ill Abraham Beatty, formerly a resident of Jackson township and at one time well known in this county, died at his home near Angola, Saturday, after an illness dating back several years. The funeral services were held today. Surviving children are J. E. Beatty, Delta O.; Artie Beatty, this city, and Mrs. Ellen Hensinger, Allen county. For many years the decedent resided in Jackson township, this county, and left here about ten years ago for Steuben county, where he has since resided. Sisters Are Very Low. Mrs. Samuel Maurer of this city, sister of the deceased, and Mrs. Milt Simanton, residing eight miles south of Auburn, who is also a sister, are very ill at this time and news of their death would come as a great surprise to those who know of their serious condition. It was first reported that Mrs. Simanton was dead but instead it was her brother. Steuben Republican, Angola, Steuben Co., IN, December 6, 1911 ABRAHAM BEATTY Son of William and Rebecca Beaty, was born in Wyandotte county, Ohio, February 14, 1847, and departed this life near Angola, Ind. November 24, 1911, aged 64, 9 months and 10 days. In the year 1866 he was married to Elizabeth Pillars, and to this union four children were born. In 1875 the family circle was broken by the mother passing to the world of the beyond, leaving the father with his family of small children, July 17, 1886 he married Frances Gochenaur and to this union were born eight children. Besides his wife and children, who deeply mourn his death there are seven grandchildren, five sisters and two brothers. Two children, three sisters and three brothers have preceded him to the spirit world. Mr. Beaty has always been an industrious, hard-working man, always ready to lend a helping hand. He was a kind father and good neighbor, and will be greatly missed in the family circle and by all who knew him. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 27th, at the Fairview Christian church. Interment in Circle Hill cemetery. Elder C. W. McCord officiating.
