Description	:	Abram Miller Black died at 2:20 o'clock a.m., Saturday, November 15, 1919, at his home in Fairmont, Nebraska. He was born in College Corner, Indiana, March 22, 1842. In September, 1861, he enlisted in Company G, 36th Indiana Volunteer Infantry and was honorably discharged September 21st, 1864, serving a little over three years. Returning to his home state, he was united in marriage to Miss... Read More	Abram Miller Black died at 2:20 o'clock a.m., Saturday, November 15, 1919, at his home in Fairmont, Nebraska. He was born in College Corner, Indiana, March 22, 1842. In September, 1861, he enlisted in Company G, 36th Indiana Volunteer Infantry and was honorably discharged September 21st, 1864, serving a little over three years. He participated in the battle of Lookout Mountain and went with General Sherman as far as Atlanta. In February, 1871, he came to Nebraska and homesteaded near Fairmont. Returning to his home state, he was united in marriage to Miss Catherine Robinson January 8, 1874, at Silver Lake, Indiana. Surviving him are his wife and two children, Winton E. and V. Grace; also two sisters and two brothers in Ohio. He was received on profession of faith in Christ in the First Presbyterian Church of Fairmont in 1879 and was elected and ordained to the office of ruling elder in this church in 1894, continuing to fill this position until the time of his death. Mr. Black was an honest, hard-working, useful man and a faithful Christian. As a ruling elder, he was wise in council and faithful in the performance of his duties. Funeral services were held at the home at 3:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon, November 16th, conducted by the pastor, Rev. J.M. Norris. Interment was in the Fairmont Cemetery.
