Fry, 85, a resident of Alliance since 1925, died Sunday at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home. She had been living at 416 Lane 2. Mrs. Fry was born June 1, 1895 in Miltown, SD and her late husband, Elmer, died September 26, 1969. She had lived in the Glen and Crawford areas prior to moving to Alliance. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church Auxiliary. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Bernard (Eunice) Bauer of Alliance, Mrs. Jessie (Neomi) Pyle of Cody, Wyoming, Mrs. Darwin (Shirley) Jespersen of Hemingford and Mrs. Delores Ann Mathews; a sister, Carrie Stockham of New Plymouth, Idaho and by 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two sons, five brothers and six sisters. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, at the Bates-Landa Funeral Home with the Rev. James Green officiating. Burial will be in the Alliance Cemetery. A memorial has been established either to the Presbyterian Church or the Heart Fund. A HISTORY BY HER DAUGHTER, EUNICE BAUER THAT WAS LISTED IN THE GOOD SAMARITIN VILLAGE TIMES: "RESIDENT OF THE MONTH, ADA E. FRY" Ada E. Fry was born at Miltown, South Dakota on June 1, 1895 to William and Ruhama Glendy. She was 1 of 4 sets of twins. When she was 9 years old she came with her parents, brother and sisters, in a covered wagon from South Dakota to a homestead on the South Loup River, northeast of Oconto, Nebraska. She attended the Tuckerville Elementary School and Sunday School. On July 31, 1913, she married Elmer L. Fry at Broken Bow, Nebraska. They lived on a farm at Glen, Nebraska, where 3 of her 6 children were born. Then they moved to Crawford, for a few years, where Mr. Fry worked for the Burlington Railroad, and then in 1925 moved to Alliance, where Mr. Fry was transfered for the Burlington Railroad and has lived here since. Of her 6 children, 4 are still living. Clyde Owen (who passed away on June 5, 1972), Marvin Loren (who passed away on May 26, 1981); Eunice Mae Bauer, who has moved to Alliance from a ranch west of Alliance; Jessie Naoma Pyle lives in Cody, Wyoming and owns a jewelry store; Shirley Albert Jespersen lives on a farm south west of Hemingford, Nebraska; and Delores Ann Matthews. She has been a hard working mother, doing mostly all her own sewing for the family - cooking, canning and gardening. She worked with the Presbyterian Ladies Circle for a number of years, until her health failed. She sold her place in Alliance in 1977 where she continued to live since the death of her husband, Elmer in September, 1969. Then she moved to the Good Samaritin apartments until she could no longer stay alone and came to the nursing home in March, 1981.
