A. B. Frye, pastor of Immanuel Methodist Church. Interment was beside the body of her husband in Sunnyridge Memorial Park. Bearers were Benjamin H. Sterling, J. Osborne Nelson, Percy N. Reese, Clarence G. Butler, Fred Cullen and Robert H. Bradshaw. Mrs. Landon had been a patient in the hospital in Salisbury for about one month, and had passed her 77th birthday. She was a retired school teacher, having spent most of her years teaching in Crisfield and other parts of Somerset County. Regarded as one of the best elementary school teachers in the county, hundreds of young people had started their education with her as tutor, and all of them had great respect and affection for her as a teacher and an individual. Mrs. Landon had for years been actively interested in church and community affairs. She was a member of Immanuel Methodist Church and sang in the choir there until recently. She took part in many civic activities, and was one of the first women to be elected a member of the Democratic State Central Committee in Somerset County. She had a host of friends throughout the county who held her in high esteem because of the many fine qualities she possessed and or her friendliness and helpfulness. The choir of Immanuel Church attended the funeral in a body as a mark of respect for one who had served with it for many years. She is survived by the following nieces and nephews: Miss Frieda Howard and Miss Sarah Howard and Graham Howard, of Seaford, Del., William Howard of Pittsburg, Pa., and Charles Howard of New York.
