She was born October 6, 1927, the daughter of Douglas Hook and Ida Jane Summers, in Wellington, Kansas. She graduated from Mendon-Union High School in 1946. Read More	On Sunday, January 10, 2016, at 7:15 PM, Ada Jane Rumple, 88, formerly of Wapakoneta, left her dwelling place on earth to join her Heavenly Father. She was born October 6, 1927, the daughter of Douglas Hook and Ida Jane Summers, in Wellington, Kansas. She graduated from Mendon-Union High School in 1946. On May 9, 1947, Ada married Harvey (Ed) Rumple who has welcomed her home to her eternal resting place. He preceded her in death in 2003. She is currently walking the streets of gold, praising our Lord and Savior. If you can’t find her there, check the throne room. She may be resting in the arms of Jesus. Ada was a long time Tupperware manager, taught the “Good News Club” in Wapakoneta, and enjoyed “clowning around” and jigsaw puzzles. Ed and Ada also parented over fifty foster children over the years. She will be greatly missed here on earth by their children: Jane (Dale) Heyd of Lamoure, N Dakota, John (Dorothy) Rumple of Wapakoneta, Jim Rumple of New Knoxville, Jacki (Paul) Hazelton of Wharton, W Va, Joe (Brenda) Rumple of Wapakoneta, Jeff (Kris) Rumple of Hicksville, Ohio, and Mike (Melissa) Pursell of Sidney. She adored her 16 grandchildren: Lisa, Lynnay, Laura, Randy, Jay, Tony, Scott, Staci, Jennifer, Ryan, Matthew, Laura, Michael, Elizabeth, Kelly and Joshua along with the 34 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Eugene Hook, Roy Hook, and Dorothy Felver. Ada was a lifelong member in the Church of the Nazarene, and had been attending the Hicksville Church of Christ until recently. Her greatest wish is that one day she will again see her family at the gates of Heaven and hear Jesus say the words we long to hear: “Welcome home my good and faithful servant”. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Mon. Jan. 18, 2016, at the Bayliff & Eley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1102 Lincoln Ave. (St. Rt. 501) Wapakoneta, with her son, Pastor John Rumple and Pastor Ward Lewis officiating. Burial is to follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens, near Moulton, OH. The family will receive friends 2-8 p.m., Sun. Jan. 17, and 1 hr. prior to the services, Mon. at the funeral home. Memorials to the family will be distributed to the organizations that were dear to Ada.
