Mrs. Strivens is survived by two sons, Carl of Hartington; and Harold of Coleridge; three daughters, Mrs. Laura Mitchell and Mrs. Alice Willms of Coleridge; and Mrs. Eda Domina of Randolph; 19 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren, Mrs. Strivens helped raise five of her grandchildren. ... She was preceded in death by two sons, Walter and Elmer and two daughters, Addie Strivens and Mrs. Olive Parsons. Burial was in the Coleridge cemetery. Pallbearers were six grandsons, Marvin, Elmer and Allan Domina and Bob, Don and Clifford Strivens. Ada Primmer was born October 30, 1873, at Geneva Lake, Wis., the daughter of Walter and Jane Primmer. She moved from Wisconsin to Wessington Springs, S. D., and then to Coleridge. Mrs. Strivens attended high school at Hartington and later tarught at the Pearl Creek school. She married Frank Elmer Strivens October 1, 1890. They lived southwest of Hartington then moved to Boyd county. The couple lived in a sod house on a homestead and Mrs. Strivens taught in a sod school house in Boyd county. They returned to Cedar county 7 years later. Mr. Strivens died October 18, 1939. Persons attending the funeral from a distance were Mrs. Myrtle Strivens, Wakefeld; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Bokemper, Emerson; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Beecher and children, Phoenix, Ariz.; Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hawa, Seward; John Urish, Columbus; Elmer Dominia, Milford and Allan Domina, Lincoln.
