She was a Johnson County native and lived most of her life in Elizabethton. Mrs. Jordan was a daughter of the late D.B. and Elizabeth Wilson Reece. She finished high school in Mountain City and received her college education from East Tennessee State University and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Read More	Ada (Reece) Jordan, 97, 2012 Sherwood Drive, formerly of Elizabethton, died Wednesday, June 23, 1993, at North Side Hospital after a brief illness. She was a Johnson County native and lived most of her life in Elizabethton. Mrs. Jordan was a daughter of the late D.B. and Elizabeth Wilson Reece. She finished high school in Mountain City and received her college education from East Tennessee State University and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Mrs. Jordan was a member of First Baptist Church, Elizabethton. She served as president of the Women's Missionary Union, superintendent of the Intermediate Department, as a Sunday school teacher, as a library worker, and on the Kitchen Committee. Mrs. Jordan was a member and honorary member of the General Federated Womans Club, a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and a charter member of the Elizabethton Pink Ladies Auxiliary of Carter County Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husband, Austin C. Jordan in 1978, four brothers, and three sisters. Survivors include one sister, Ruth Rambo, Elizabethton, and several nieces and nephews Active pallbearers will be John L. Bowers, Jr., Virgil McKinney, G. B. Gardner, W. Beryl Hyder, Kyle Chambers, Barney Fordren, Walter Akers, and Mike Pierce. Honorary pallbearers will be John L. Bowers III, Gregory H. Bowers, the remaining Deacons of First Baptist Church, members of the Philathea Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church, Mary Oliver, Grace Heaton, Sadie Welch, Doug Cole, and the staff of Appalachian Christian Village.
