John Walter Russell and Adaline Barr were married April 16, 1895 at Dorchester, Ontario. The Death of Mrs. J. W. Russell One of the most highly esteemed residents of the town, Mrs. J. W. Russell, passed quietly away at her home on Monday afternoon at 4 o'clock. The deceased had been in ill-health for some two years but not until about six weeks ago was there any manifestation of an early demise. From then, however, she began to decline, and during the last week sank very rapidly unto the end. Mrs. Russell was a very quiet unassuming woman, and one in whose heart her home held a very sacred place. There was no sacrifice too great for her to make for her loved ones, nor indeed for anyone whom she could help. Just two years ago she was called upon to make her greatest sacrifice when the family received work that their eldest son, Griffith, had been "killed in action." From this great shock she never fully recovered. The deepest sympathy of their many friends are extended to Mr. Russell and the four children, George of Calgary; Margaret, attending the university; Gwen, teaching at Red Deer, and Albert, attending the High school, all of whom were present at the time of her death.
