Description	:	Adam Bucher was born in either in Adams County (say his military records) or Somerset County (says everyone else on the Internet). For certain, he was the son of John & Anna Rebecca (Leas) Bucher, who likely are buried in Bull Hill Cemetery in Perry County, although I can't prove that. In 1860, Adam was a laborer living in Tuscarora Township, Perry County, and stood 5' 8" tall with black hair and black eyes. In 1860, Adam was a laborer living in Tuscarora Township, Perry County, and stood 5' 8" tall with black hair and black eyes. A Civil War veteran, he enlisted in Perry County August 5, 1862, mustered into federal service at Harrisburg August 11 as a private with Co. G, 133rd Pennsylvania Infantry, and honorably discharged with his company May 26, 1863. He then enlisted in Harrisburg, date not reported, and mustered into federal service there September 7, 1864, as a private with Co. G, 208th Pennsylvania Infantry. He fell ill shortly thereafter and, on September 18, was left behind at Camden U.S. Hospital, Baltimore, Maryland, when the regiment went into the field. He rejoined for duty November 7 and honorably discharged with his company June 1, 1865. He married Rachel Elizabeth Davis and fathered (may not be a complete list) Norvil E. (d. 07/10/79), Bertha Rebecca (b. 10/01/68 - married James L. Mead), Thurston Ellsworth (b. 11/14/71), Leo (b. @1874), D. O. (b. 02/10/76), Mae M. (b. 07/09/80 - married Denver J. Forney), Frank Eugene (b. 09/21/83), and Daisy A. (b. 12/26/87).
