Description	:	Adam Walter Adam Walter farmed west of Billings for 45 years before moving into Billings in 1946. He worked for Pierce Packing Co. during the winter months, took care of the Pierce family yards during the summer and in 1958 went to work as a ditch rider for Suburban Ditch Co. He remained active all of his life, doing things for relatives, friends and neighbors, and was very devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an honorary deacon in the Pilgrim Congregational Church since 1977, an officer of the church for 54 years and enjoyed growing flowers, gardening, making carpeted spools and fishing. Mr. Walter, 90, of 3610 Fourth Ave. S., died Tuesday morning in Billings Deaconess Medical Center. He was born in Walter, Russia, a son of Peter and Eva Walter. He came to the Billings area in 1913; and married Mollie Uhrich on Feb. 18, 1918, in Billings. Survivors include his wife; four sons, Alvin of St. George, Utah, and Herman, Harold and Kenneth, all of Billings; three daughters, Mrs. Henry (Hannah) Robertus Jr. and Mrs. George William (Helen) Reiter, both of Laurel, and Mrs. Gary (Ruth) Armstrong of Billings; 25 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Pilgrim Congregational Church with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Smith Downtown Chapel is in charge.
