Description	:	Adda Biba, daughter of Jefferson and Carrie Belle Coltrain Mitchell, was born on the family farm northeast of Exeter on February 24, 1899. She attended school in Exeter and graduated from high school in 1917. Following graduation, she taught in rural schools for several years. Read More	Adda Biba, daughter of Jefferson and Carrie Belle Coltrain Mitchell, was born on the family farm northeast of Exeter on February 24, 1899. She attended school in Exeter and graduated from high school in 1917. Following graduation, she taught in rural schools for several years. On December 29, 1919, she was united in marriage to James Biba, and they were privileged to spend more than 55 years together. She was an active member of the Exeter United Methodist Chuch and had served in several offices of the church's women groups, more recently known as United Methodist Women. She had been an active member of several organizations. She was a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary; a 50-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star; first member of the Exeter Chapter and later affiliating with the Mt. Moriah Chapter in Fairmont. Adda was a member of the Woman's Club, serving as local and county president and also a member of the World War I Barracks Auxiliary. In later years, she continued to be active in these organizations and contributed as best she could. One of the real joys in her life was the longtime association with a group of local ladies known as the Contract Bridge Club. The girls, as they are fondly known to each other, were all very dear to her. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; sister, Dorothy and brother, Bill. In passing, Tuesday, January 6, 1976, she is survived by her daughter, Beverly; son-in-law, Leo Marek; grandchildren, Leo, Ted and Sarah; two sisters, Ora Bluch of Delta, Col., and Gladys Owens of Kennewick, Wash.; other relatives and friends. Services were held on Friday, January 9, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church of Exeter with Homer B. Clements officiating. Robert O. Rhodes sang "How Great Thou Art" and was accompanied by the church's organist, Mrs. Edward Votipka. Casket bearers were Leo Marek, Francis Biba, James A. Biba, Theodore Marek, Thomas Manning and Richard Manning, with interment in the Exeter Cemetery of Exeter. The Nebraska Signal January 15th, 1976 page 14
