Read More	Source: The Victor Record 4/10/1919 Mrs. Alexander McAdam Addassa Jane Rosenberger was born near Tiffin, Ohio, January 29, 1861, and came to Iowa County in the State of Iowa with her widowed mother and Grandfather Rosenberger in 1853 and located near Ladora, Iowa. She was married to Alexander McAdam at Victor, Iowa, January 19, 1871, about which town they have since resided. There were born to this union eight children: Sarah A. Hughes, of Des Moines, Iowa; Edward McAdam and Rollin H. McAdam, Victor; Elsie Rossman of Portland, Ore.; Huween McAdam, of Bueyrus, Ohio; Dora Tucker and Leota Herrington, of Merino, Colo., and Mary Kilmer, of Brooklyn, Iowa. Mrs. McAdam died at her home in Victor, Iowa, March 31, 1919, aged 68 years, 2 months and 1 day. She was a woman of a very shy and retiring disposition, finding her whole world in the interests of home and the care of her family. She was in the highest sense of that word a "home-maker" and was active in her duties almost to the last. Never having an unkindly thought of anyone she was never heard to say an uncharitable word about another. Thought not old-she lacked two years of three score years and ten. her work was finished and it was well done, for no one ever better fulfilled her mission as wife and mother than she did. In the family circle of ten her death came as the first break, but she lived long enough to see her eight children able to take their places in the world. God mercifully spared her a long weary time of suffering and weakness. The best thought of our friend and mother is surely that held in the words of Job: "The Lord gave, the Lord has taken away. Blessed by the name of the Lord." She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, all of her children, 14 grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Mrs. R. A. Rosenberger of Ladora, Iowa; two half-sisters, Mrs. Dora Fiser and Mrs. Nora Brocki of Victor, Iowa, and many friends. The funeral services were held at the home on Thursday afternoon, April 3, the Reverend William W. Maxwell officiating, and interment was made in the Victor I.O.O.F. cemetery.
