Mr Mortorff had been in ill health for four weeks and was hospitalized at the Garrett Community hospital for three weeks before being transferred to the hospital in Fort Wayne a week ago. He was a native of DeKalb county and manager of the A&P store in Auburn when it was located on West Seventh street. He was born Jan 12, 1872 and in 1903 he and Blanche Baughman were married in Ashley. Surviving are a sister, May Duncan of Waterloo and three brothers, Ralph and Glenn Mortorff of Angola and George Mortorff of Hamilton. His wife, a son, Baxter, three other brothers and sisters preceded him in death. Mr Mortorff was a member of the First Christian church in Auburn. ~submitted by Merllene #47157899 The body was removed to the Wm H Loy Funeral Home in Auburn where friends may call after 1 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home at 2 pm Tuesday with the Rev Odin C Memering pastor of the First Christian church of Auburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamilton cemetery.
