Adele was born on October 25th, 1924 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Carl and Julie (Peterson) Bonander. She married Marlow N. Engberg on June 26th, 1954. They travelled all over the country, living in different states, eventually settling in Oregon where they have resided for the past 25 years. Adele received a degree from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN and worked at various hospitals as a medical technologist. Beaver Valley Church was an important part of Adele's life. She was baptized, confirmed and married there. On Saturday she will be buried in the church's cemetery. Adele was involved in many church related activities. She was a Sunday School Teacher, part of the Ladies Aid, and taught confirmation. Adele was a master seamstress and made the majority of her own clothes. Sewing, knitting and crocheting were her passions. Adele is survived by her husband, Marlow Engberg of Gresham; sons, Mark Engberg of Portland, Tim Engberg of Portola, CA, and Jonathan Engberg of Gresham; and one granddaughter, Ashley Engberg. Remembrances may be sent to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
