Read More	Marlow Nels Engberg, 87 passed away Friday, November 16, 2012, after a long battle with Parkinson's and Kidney disease. Marlow was born in Minneapolis, MN, on September 17, 1925, to Nels and Minnie Engberg. He was shaped by the Depression as a child and never departed from its lessons of conservative thrift, hard work and, most importantly, a commitment to church, community, family, and friends. He enlisted in the Navy at age 18 and served in the Pacific Theater, where he fought the war, serving in a variety of roles. During the war, he saw firsthand the devastation of war at Okinawa. Following World War II, Marlow returned to Minneota, MN, joining his father in the management of a Red Owl Grocery Store. Eventually, he answered the call to the ministry and attended Augustana College, graduating in 1952 and, then, Luther Seminary in 1956. Along the way, he met Adele Bernice Bonander, the love of his life. They were married on June 25, 1954 and were married for fifty-five years until her passing in 2009. As a Lutheran Pastor, he served four communities: Trinity Lutheran Church in Fowler CO, Prince of Peace in Casper WY, Trinity Lutheran Church in Choteau, MT, and Emmanuel Lutheran in Moscow, ID. He started the church in Casper as a "Home Mission." Over the years he confirmed and married many young people, a service he enjoyed the most. He appreciated sacred music and savored Swedish cuisine, fishing and hunting. Marlow could tell a tale and a joke and often would tell stories about past hunting feats. Marlow was a student of history and enjoyed an ongoing commentary of current events and politics. Marlow was a devoted husband and father and a man of his word. He was compassionate, kind and generous. He was greatly loved by his family and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his sons and their families: Timothy and his wife Anne; Mark and his wife Laurie; and Jonathan and his daughter Ashley and her husband Donny. Ashley frequently wrote letters to him and often opened the letter "To my Silver Fox." Services will be held at Miller Funeral Home, 13th & Main, at 11 a.m. with the family present to greet friends beginning at 10 am on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. A reception will follow the service. Friends and family are welcome. The family suggests that memorials be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
