Description	:	Adeline Berg, 80, Max, died Monday, September 29, 2008 in a Mandan hospital. Funeral services will e held on Thursday at 10:30am at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Max. A rosary/vigil service will be held on Wednesday beginning at 7pm at the church. Burial will be at Endres Catholic Cemetery in rural Max at 2:30pm. Adeline Edith Schmidt was born July 24, 1928 in rural Max, ND to William and Philippina (Tietz) Schmidt. She was raised on the farm and went to a country school near Max. She attended Max High School where she met Bob Berg whom she married and had eight wonderful children. They had five boys and three girls. Son Harlan was taken to heaven at the tender age of eight. The family lived in Max for several years before moving to the farm near Max, where they lived at the time of her death. Adeline had a great faith in God and the Blessed Virgin Mary. She taught religion class for a number of years and also led the rosary for thirty or more years. Adeline loved her garden and growing flowers which she raised with tender care. Many of her favorite recipes were not from her cook book, but in her head, always adding something to make them special. Her buns were a big hit, especially with her grandchildren. Adeline also believed in being prompt with meals, church and appointments. Adeline will be greatly missed by her devoted husband and her family. Adeline is survived by her husband, Bob, Max, ND; daughters: Darlene (Tom) Holverson, Lakeville, MN; Jeri (Terry) Wiege, Hebron, ND; Tami (Steve) Hauf, Sabin, MN; sons: Orrin (Karen) Berg, Max, ND; Dale Berg, Douglas, WY; Richard (Linda) Berg, Max, ND and Mitch Berg, New Town, ND; 19 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; sisters: Clara Giese and Lois Schmeichel; brother: Wilbert Schmidt and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; son: Harlan; grandson: Matthew; granddaughter: Monica; sisters: Agnes Polsfut and Elna Huettl. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to the Celiac Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
