With her parents William and Lucinda Meikle, she came to Fayette County, Iowa, when but a babe making their home not far from the present location of this city of Oelwein. ADDIE BUTLER OBITUARY Mrs. Addie Butler, was born in Grant Co., Wisconsin, March 11, 1855. With her parents William and Lucinda Meikle, she came to Fayette County, Iowa, when but a babe making their home not far from the present location of this city of Oelwein. On September 24, 1877 she married Joseph Butler, one son was born to this union Roy, but he died some months ago. The husband died some twenty years ago. In her home life of nearly four score years, Mrs. Butler saw many changes take place in this community, which was her home for practically her entire life. A charter member of the Church of Christ she attended its service whenever health and circumstances permitted until some months ago when she went to Mason City, Iowa, to make her home in the Odd Fellows Home at that place. When she did not answer the call to breakfast on Monday morning, January 30, the attendant went to her room and found that she had gone to sleep in this world to be awakened in the next. Her work was done, she was ready to go. Of her immediate family, one brother and three sisters had gone on before. One brother, Mr. William Meikle of Oelwein, and a sister Mrs. Thomas Meskell of Oelwein, one grandchild, a daughter-in-law and a large circle of friends remain to mourn her going. Funeral was held from the Oelwein Church of Christ, Wednesday afternoon, February 1 and the body laid to rest in the Woodlawn Cemetery.
