Read More	PIERCE COUNTY CALL; Pierce, Nebraska - Thursday, May 3, 1928 ADOLPH FRIEDERICH LAID TO REST Funeral services of Adolph Friederich who passed away last week Tuesday at a Denver hospital, were held Friday afternoon-first at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Friederich, in Norfolk at two o'clock and at 2:30 o'clock at the Presyternian church by the pastor, Rev. P.M. Orr. Music was furnished by a quartet choir. The pall bearers were Messrs. Otto Schwichtenberg, Herbert Willey and Ralph Klug, of Norfolk, and A.L. Brande, Ed. B. Fanske and C.H. Chilvers of Pierce. A squad of American Legion members acted as guard of honor at that city. After the services the remains were brought to Prospect View cemetery south of Pierce for burial. The funeral party was met at the cemetery at 4 o'clock by a squad of American Legion from the Pierce Post, under the command of L.C. Moore. They fired a salute over the grave after which bugler C.H. Chilvers sounded taps. The members of the firing squad were Messrs. L.C. Moore, Rudolph Synovec, Roy Peters, Emil Hansen, Bruce Boyd, E.F. Bowen, Eric Wesselman, H. Lee James, C. H. Chilvers, Roy Synovec and Orlando Beemer. Deceased enlisted in the U.S. army during the World War and served nearly two years overseas. He was a member of the A.E.F., Siberian Vladivostok base ordinance depot company 1918-19. He saw service in several major conflicts. He was a member of the Benjamin Hostetter Post of the American Legion and belonged to the Woodman lodge. Five years ago, May 17, 1923, he married Frances Fischer at Glenwood Springs, Colo. Among those who survive are the widow, two children; two brothers, Herbert of Pierce and George, student in the Iowa state college; six sisters, Miss Fedora, Manhattan, Kan.; Miss Loretta, Columbus; Mrs. Max Klug, Mrs. Elsie Klug, Mrs. William Lichtenberg and Miss Josephine all of Norfolk and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Friederich. (Thresa Friederich -I am the granddaughter of Adolf Wilhelm FRIEDERICH. The obituary incorrectly lists his wife's maiden name as Fischer. It was SICHER. Her full name was Franziska Antoinette SICHER, daughter of Mary Cecilia BAADER and Charles Anton SICHER. Adolf and "Frankie" lived with their two young sons, AW Junior and George Theodor [my father], in Hayden, Colorado until his death.)
