He married Grace E. Stewart, Oct. 18, 1935 [sic-1934]. In 1955 he retired as a salesman for Montgomery Ward. He was a member of St. Mary's Church. Survivors include his widow; three stepsons, Thomas Kerens of Camanche and James and Robert Kerens of Clinton; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Marvin (Evelyn) Petersen of DeWitt and Mrs. Warren (Loretta) Detra of Clinton; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, and one sister."
