Description	:	Affa married Horace C. Root, 23 Jan 1831 in Ridgefield, Huron County, Ohio. Horace was married before in 1826 to Julia Cooke,she died in 1830, they had one child Martha Root. Horace and Affa had four children that can be documented, Calvin, Hiram and Ezra,and daughter Mary born in 1831, however she has not been found after 1850. Affa states in the 1900 census she had given birth to four children and only two are surviving, that would be Ezra and Calvin, as Mary must of died and son Hiram died in the civil war in 1865. Affa is living under an assumed name in 1880, Affa Harvey, her son Ezra Root is 39 years old and living with her, also his daughter by Mary Hall Root, Affa states she is her daughter Nellie Harvey,living in Oxford, Erie, Ohio............... Affa Root died at the home of her son Ezra after an illness of four weeks, she was 90.The funeral was held at the home on Tuesday Sept 2nd 1902 at 10:30 a.m. Rev W.R. Reed of the Methodist E.
