She married J. F. McRoberts on December 25, 1906, in Webber, Kansas. They were the parents of five sons and three daughters. (Florence died shortly after birth.) Agnes died on October 27, 1947, in Shelton, Nebraska, at the age of 61. . . . . . Mrs. J. F. McRoberts Dies Following A Lingering Illness Agnes McRoberts, 61, a well-known and highly esteemed Shelton woman, died at the family home here at 6 AM Monday following a lingering illness. She had been in failing health for four years and bedfast the past two months. Agnes, daughter of Jacob and Chelsea Savidge, was born September 3, 1886, in Richland County, Wisconsin. When a small girl, her family moved to Iowa, and she received her education in the schools of Hamburg and Riverton. In 1908, the family moved to Kansas where she taught school. On Christmas, December 25, 1906, at the age of 20, she was married to John Frederic McRoberts in Webber, Kansas. The family moved to Holdrege for 5 years, and in 1937 came to Shelton where they have since made their home. Mrs. McRoberts was a woman who had many friends and was deeply devoted to her family. She was a member of the Methodist Church, the Legion Auxiliary and Rebecca Lodge, and was active in these organizations until poor help forced her to give up work outside of her home. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Florence. Besides her husband, she is survived by seven children Lenora, Hal, Paul, John Gordon, Bill, Bert and Shirley, as well as 16 grandchildren. Funeral rites will be conducted in the Methodist Church at 2:30 this afternoon with Rev. Vincent Beebe officiating. Interment will be in the Shelton cemetery.
