Oct 15, 1925 - Carroll Times - Mrs. Edward Rogers, 2124 Emmet street, Omaha, Neb., passed away at her home Sunday afternoon after an illness of about two weeks. Wednesday morning her remains were taken to her old home town, this city, where funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock by Rev. Eastman, pastor of the Methodist church. Interment was made in the Carroll cemetery. Mrs. Rogers before her marriage was Agnes Ella Mitchell, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Mitchell. She was born May 17, 1850, at Hazel Green, Grant county, Wisconsin, where she spent her childhood and grew to womanhood there. In 1877 she was joined in wedlock to Edward Rogers and shortly afterwards they moved to Carroll county, Iowa, where they located in the Beulah neighborhood. It was here the family was born and reared. In 1909 the home was established in Omaha, where she spent the last 16 years of her life. Mrs. Rogers was a kind Christian woman whose interests were centered around her splendid family of girls and boys. Surviving are her husband, Edward Rogers, now 86 years of age; sons, Walter and Everett, of Carroll, Ia and Dr. Fred H. of Cumberland, Ia.; daughters Mrs. T.J. Sterner, Mrs. Howard Freed and Elizabeth of Omaha; and Mrs. W.W. Hanby of Spirit Lake. She was the mother of Mrs. J.O. Sterner who passed away in October, 1921. Mrs. Rogers is also survived by four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
