Previously she was a patient in Mercy hospital, Marshalltown, seven weeks, for treatment of a circulatory condition. Born Oct. 7, 1892, in Carroll township, Tama county, she was the daughter of J. M. and Anna Husak Dvorak. She attended rural schools in Carroll township and St. Patrick’s school in Tama. On Feb. 12, 1912, she married Frank J. Zmolek, the wedding taking place in Chelsea. The couple farmed northeast of Toledo in Howard township until Mr. ZmolekÂ’s death in 1923. She then made her home with her brother until 1929, when she moved to Vining. She returned to the home farm in 1936 and lived there until moving to Toledo. Thirteen years later, with her son, Frank, she moved to Tama, buying a home at 611 Harmon street, where she resided the last seven years. Mrs. Zmolek was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, K.D. Lodge, St. Catherine Circle, Holy Trinity Rosary Society of Vining and St. Mary’s Ladies Society of Vining. Surviving are five children, Mrs. Ralph (Agnes) Dostal, Toledo, Mrs. Milvoy (Blanche) Upah, Vining, Frank J., Tama, Charles F. and Peter P. Zmolek, both of Toledo; 28 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, three brothers, Frank J. Dvorak, Toledo, John Dvorak, Cedar Raids, Joe Dvorak, Clutier and a sister, Mrs. Albin (Mary) Hanus, Traer, and many more distant relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two infant sons, Fred and Joseph, and a brother, Fred Dvorak. The Rosary was recited at the Funeral Home Tuesday evening at 8 o’clock, led by Rev. J. A. Kress, Miss Pauline Dvorak and Mrs. Edwin Wacha cared for Mass cards. Services were held Wednesday morning at 9:30 o’clock in St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, with Rev. J. A. Kress, assisted by Rev. L. E. Rasing, celebrating Requiem Mass. Mrs. Peggy Cibula, organist, accompanied the adult church choir. Floral tributes were cared for by Mrs. Joseph Soucek, Doreen, Kathy, and Loretta Zmolek. Casket bearers were Allen Zmolek, Darrell Zmolek, Bernard Dostal, Loren Upah, Russell Upah, and Norman Dostal. Burial was in Holy Trinity cemetery, rural Clutier.
