Description	:	Agnes M. "Aggie" Valasek, of Spalding, NE., passed away Friday, June 1, 2012 at the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center, Albion, NE. Agnes, the daughter of Andrew and Salamea (Stanczyk) Valasek was born on August 6, 1910 at Spring Valley, IL. Agnes grew up in Greeley County near Spalding where she received her education at the Infield Country School. Following her education, she moved to Omaha where she worked for a time at a packing plant. She later returned to Spalding where she lived and helped on the family farm along with caring for her... Read More	Agnes M. "Aggie" Valasek, of Spalding, NE., passed away Friday, June 1, 2012 at the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center, Albion, NE. Agnes, the daughter of Andrew and Salamea (Stanczyk) Valasek was born on August 6, 1910 at Spring Valley, IL. Agnes grew up in Greeley County near Spalding where she received her education at the Infield Country School. Following her education, she moved to Omaha where she worked for a time at a packing plant. She later returned to Spalding where she lived and helped on the family farm along with caring for her parents. Among the many things she did on the farm were: milking cows, feeding chickens, separating cream and working as a farmhand. She was loved by her many nieces and nephews and was like a grandmother to them. Agnes was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church of Spalding and St. Anne's Altar Society. Surviving Agnes are: siblings: Walter Valasek of Spalding; Stella Jacobsen, Dorothy Arrasmith, and Josephine Valasek, all of Omaha and host of relatives and friends. Agnes was preceded in death by parents, sisters: Sophie Molczyk, Mary Molczyk, Katherine Gorzany; brother Andrew Valasek and nephew Donald Lee Valasek. Interment was in the St. Michael's Cemetery, Spalding, NE. Published in The Grand Island Independent on June 3, 2012
