Description	:	Aileen M. Sigler, 102, of Gibbon died Friday, March 25, 2011, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Gibbon Baptist Church with the Rev. Linda Bergeon officiating. Burial will be at Gibbon Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at the church. Godberson Mortuary of Gibbon/Shelton is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include her daughter, Joan Westberg and her husband, Marlin, of Gibbon; sons, John "Jack" Sigler and his wife, Daisy, of Zebulon, N.C., and Alan Sigler and his wife, Lana, of St. Simons, Ga.; grandchildren, Jeff Westberg and wife, Pat, of Shelton, Bart Westberg and wife, Laurie, of Overland Park, Kan., Vickie Sigler Harper and husband, Dan, of Kearney, Darin Sigler and wife, Brenda, of Cozad, Shawna Sigler of Birmingham, Ala., Mark Sigler of St. Simons, Cassie Sigler Allen and husband, Blake, of Helena, Ala., and T.J. Sigler of Atlanta; great-grandchildren, Wyatt Westberg and wife, Peggy, of Gibbon, Kirstin Westberg Bowling and husband, Jon, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., Josh, Hannah and Kate Westberg of Overland Park, Bailey and Riley Sigler of Cozad and Miles Allen of Helena. She was 2 years old when her family immigrated to the United States in 1911. They settled in the Minden area where her father farmed with his brothers. She grew up there and graduated from Minden High School in 1927. She and Glenn made their home in Gibbon where he owned and operated an auto repair shop. Aileen raised her family, studied nursing and began her licensed practical nurse career at Gibbon Good Samaritan Center soon after it opened. She was an avid gardener and a loyal member of the Gibbon Garden Club. She was a member of other social clubs, including the Faithful Rebekah Lodge of Gibbon, which she served as a past noble grand. Aileen played a mean game of checkers and never met a fish she couldn't catch, nor missed an opportunity to share a warm chocolate chip cookie. Her sense of humor and laugh were infectious and her resolve legendary - as strong and long-lived as a live oak tree. Her secret macaroni salad recipe may now be lost, but the delicious memory will never be forgotten. In addition to her husband of 78 years, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and three sisters.
