Description	:	Albert "Bert" Allan Glessner, 67, died April 12, 2008, at Northwest Hospital in Seattle, WA, from heart failure due to an extended illness. He was a long time resident of Mansfield, WA. Bert was born in Wenatchee, WA on September 14, 1940. He was raised on a family owned wheat farm in Mansfield, WA. He attended school and graduated from Mansfield High School in 1958. Read More	Albert "Bert" Allan Glessner, 67, died April 12, 2008, at Northwest Hospital in Seattle, WA, from heart failure due to an extended illness. He was a long time resident of Mansfield, WA. Bert was born in Wenatchee, WA on September 14, 1940. He was raised on a family owned wheat farm in Mansfield, WA. He attended school and graduated from Mansfield High School in 1958. In 1965, Bert began drilling irrigation water wells and in 1966, married Kathleen Floyd. Together, during their 37 year marriage, they raised their four children in Mansfield, where he also farmed wheat until 1985. He continued his career as a well-driller until his health forced him to retire in 1992. During his adult life, Mr. Glessner's hobbies as a photographer and a gunsmith were known by many. But his passion for sailing was most remembered by his family, who spent many weekends and holidays on their sailboat in Puget Sound. His survivors include four children, Cynthia (Chad) Olson, a hair stylist in Redmond, WA, Lisa Simmons, customer service associate in Wenatchee, WA, Carl Glessner, a computer network engineer in Redmond, WA and Paula Glessner (Rafael) Gutierrez, a property management accountant in Bellevue, WA; eight grandchildren, Kristen, Kayla, Kassidy, Plush, Allana, Kevin, Isabella and Foster; a brother, Wesley (Charolette) Glessner of Burley, WA; and a sister, Judith Esser of Mattawa, WA. Bert was preceded in death by both his parents, Allan Glessner and Mildred Smart Glessner of Mansfield, WA. Graveside Services will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Noon at Mansfield Cemetery in Mansfield, WA. Funeral arrangements are made by Marlatt Funeral Home of Kent, WA. Memorials may be made to Marlatt Funeral Home.
