Albert Augustus Hoyle, son of John and Jane Hoyle, was born in Scranton, Iowa, January 31, 1876, and passed to this reward from his home in Churdan, Iowa, February 18, 1934, age 58 years and 18 days. Albert Augustus Hoyle, son of John and Jane Hoyle, was born in Scranton, Iowa, January 31, 1876, and passed to this reward from his home in Churdan, Iowa, February 18, 1934, age 58 years and 18 days. At 18 years of age he was converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church, first with the Vernon School House Class, then later with the Adaza Society, transferring to Churdan when Churdan became his home. April 24, 1901, Elisa Ann Green became his life partner in Holy matrimony. Theirs was a happy union, blessed with four children, one daughter, Esther M, and three sons, Wm. L., Earl A., and Merle A., all of Churdan. These all survive him also one sister, Mrs. W. D. Dunlap, of Sioux City., a ‘half-sister, Alta Pheburg, of Minnesota, nine grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. His father, mother, brother, and half-brother preceded him in death. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Churdan, Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by his pastor, Rev. H. M. Strong, assisted by Rev. D. G Luke, of the Presbyterian Church, and Rev. R. C. Longfellow, of the Baptist church. All three pastors had labored in church work with the deceased, and all spoke beautifully of his life and his work in the Master's cause. They paid beautiful tribute t his Christian life and faithful works, Burial was made in the Churdan cemetery. Information and research provided by Martha Reed at [email protected]
