Description	:	Albert "Bud" Kinzie passed away on Feb. 14, 2022 at the age of 98. He was born Sept. 8, 1923, to Albert D. and Cora (Lapp) Kinzie on a farm south of Dailey, the third of nine children. He attended Dailey school from the age of six until his graduation from high school in 1941. Bud loved farming and was a farmer all his life. Read More	Albert "Bud" Kinzie passed away on Feb. 14, 2022 at the age of 98. He was born Sept. 8, 1923, to Albert D. and Cora (Lapp) Kinzie on a farm south of Dailey, the third of nine children. He attended Dailey school from the age of six until his graduation from high school in 1941. Bud loved farming and was a farmer all his life. He and his father worked together for many years, raising mostly dry land wheat and corn. They were some of the first farmers in the area to strip the fields to prevent wind erosion and to fertilize with anhydrous ammonia to improve the soil and crop yields. He also raised cattle, maintaining a herd of about 25 cows. As a young man, he and some friends organized a flying club and learned to fly small planes, which was the source of many adventures and tales. He married Carol Lippitt on June 18, 1948. In 1951, after the death of her father, they moved to the Lippitt farm where they managed the farming and livestock operation and later purchased the farm. In 2013 the Kinzie-Lippitt farm received the Colorado Centennial Farm designation, signifying 100 years of ownership by the same family. Bud lived on his farm for 71 years and continued to supervise the farming until his death. Bud grew up attending the Church of the Brethren in Haxtun, the Kinzie family's traditional faith. He later joined and was very supportive of the Fleming United Methodist Church. He developed his ability as a dowser and he spotted wells for many neighbors in Logan County. He helped build the F&H Golf Course, and he and Carol enjoyed many years of golfing fun with friends. He was also a long-time member of the Sterling Elks Club. He and Carol enjoyed golfing and playing cards with friends. They loved to travel, seeing almost every state in the country on their road trips. Bud was a wonderful husband and father, son, brother and uncle. He was always ready to help a friend or neighbor in need and he was able to find the humor in almost any situation.
