Description	:	Albert 'Hoppy' C. Griffis, 70, of Elwood, Nebraska, formerly of Cozad, Nebraska, died April 24th, 2009, at the Elwood Care Center. He was born April 20, 1939, at Cozad to Virgil and Pearl (Fletcher) Griffis. He attended school at Willow Island, Nebraska. Following his schooling, he moved to Cozad where he worked for a short time at Monroe Auto Equipment Company. In 2002, he moved to the Elwood Care Center. Hoppy was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Walter and Frank; three sisters, Veva, Verla and Buelah. Survivors include his four sisters, Ruth (Dale) Helsenbein of Omaha, Nebraska, Eva Kraft of Cozad, Mary Weber of Hastings, Nebraska, Linda (Ed) Downs of Garland, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Von Kessler of Ketchikan, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends. A memorial has been established in his memory. Condolences may be shared at berrymanfuneralhome.com. A private family burial will be held at a later date in the Walnut Grove Cemetery. Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad was in charge of arrangements.
