The funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at the First Presbyterian Church, Miller, with the Rev. Stan Gruneich officiating. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Miller. Evans was born July 13, 1916, to Mr. and Mrs. Albert G. (Precious Almond) Evans in Hiland Township, Hand County. He attended rural schools at Hiland Center School. He entered the U.S. Army/Air Force in March of 1942, serving overseas in the Aleutian Islands. He returned in 1944, and was stationed at Hamilton Field, Calif., until his discharge in October of 1945. He married Lurabel Purrington April 27, 1945, in Miller. They lived on a farm in Hiland Township until moving to Miller in 1959. He and his son, Jimmie, were engaged in the construction business. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW of Miller. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lurabel Evans of Miller; one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmie and Karen Evans of Miller; three grandchildren, Debbie Roth, Michael and David Evans, and one great-granddaughter, Ashley Roth; ;two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Jensen of St. Lawrence, and Cecile Boulais of Watertown; two brothers, Francis Evans of Marysville, Wash., and John Evans of Custer; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Eugene Evans, and two brothers-in-law. Pallbearers will be Dale Rediger, Allen Ross, Gene Smith, Don Keller, Dayton Dierkson and Clark Parmely. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
