Russell was born Oct. 16th, 1876, in Phillipsburg, Kans., and departed this life October 8th, 1938, at Concordia, Kans., in the St. Jospeh (sic) hospital (sic), aged 61 years, 11 months and 22 days. At the age of seven his family moved to Thayer county (sic), near Hubbell. In the spring of 1893, the family moved to Arkansas, where they lived for six months, then moving to Columbus, Kans., where they resided for four and a half years. In the spring of 1898 they came back to their old home in Thayer county (sic). While a still a young man he united with the Christian church at Crestline, Kans., and later transferred his membership to the Liberty Ridge Christian Church, of north of Hubbell. (NOTE: This paragraph is typed as written in newspaper.) In the year 1901 he was united in marriage to Miss Ella Heimer, of Hubbell, at Hebron. He spent all but the last four years of his married life farming near Hubbell. The last four years were spent in Chester. He leaves to mourn their loss, his wife and five children: Dale Russell, of Estacada, Ore.; Mildred Weary, of Chester; Erma Russell, of Laramie, Wyo.; Mabel Mohr, and Miss Alberta Russell, at home; six grandchildren; four brothers, Andrew S., of Hubbell; Earl E., of Sidney; Pearl P., of Portland, Ore.; and Frank, of Haden Lake, Idaho; four sisters, Mrs. Ada Jaycox, of Denver, Colo.; Mrs. Bessie Miller, of McCall, Idaho; Mrs. Jessie Scott, of Salt Lake City, Utah; and Mrs. Viola Luce, of Cuba, Kans. He will be remembered as a loving husband and father. His first thoughts for his home and family. Besides the close relatives, he leaves many friends and neighbors. I cannot say and will not say That he is a dead, he is just away! With a cheery smile and wave of the hand He has wandered into an unknown land.
