DROWNED. The badly decomposed body of Albert Siemers was found in the Maquoketa river near the W.H. Hanken farm, which is now occupied by August Husman, last Sunday morning at 9 o'clock. The body was found by Rudolph Hanken on the further side of the river, from the Hanken farm. Mr. Siemers disappeared twice. The last time on Wednesday, February 27, 1924. At that time he had gone down town with Mrs. Siemers to do some shopping and had gone up the street, supposedly to see a friend. He disappeared and she supposed he would return home shortly. He was seen in the Leroy Clark livery stable Thursday morning, the following day, and thereafter was not again seen until his body was discovered last Sunday morning. Mr. Siemers, who was 54 years old at the time of his disappearance, wore a dark suit, a black overcoat, with a fur collar, and a dark cap. He was six feet three inches tall and weighed 160 pounds. The funeral services were private, and were held from the family home last Monday afternoon at one o'clock and burial was had at the Wayne Center Cemetery. In addition to his wife, Mr. Siemers is survived by an adopted daughter, Miss Grace Siemers. * * * * * The following was sent 6/18/2018 and has been added to the Bio Info.
