Mr. Siemers was born at Leehafe, Province Hanover, Germany, May 2, 1838. Mr. Siemers was born at Leehafe, Province Hanover, Germany, May 2, 1838. He came to America in February 1805, and settled In Jones county, Iowa, where he married Gretje Schoon in October of the same year. He was the father of eight children, five of whom survive. Among those deceased was the late Mrs. Henry Harms, of Wayne. Three sons and one daughter reside at home, and will remain with their mother. The other daughter is Mrs. John Rlcklefs Of Bowen's Prairie. Mr. Siemers was an honest man, and through his frugality he amassed a competency which is left entirely to his worthy widow. The funeral services were conducted last Sabbath afternoon by Rev. Mardorf at the Wayne Lutheran church. It was attended by one of the largest concourses of people ever seen at a funeral in the township. This was a well-deserved mark of esteem due the memory of a good citizen and upright man
