Description	:	Albert Francis Gard was born January 24, 1902 in Early to William and Katharina (Puetz) Gard. He was baptized in Sacred Heart Church on the 29th day of January. He received his education at both Sacred Heart and public grade schools. On January 26,1926 he was united in marriage to Kathryn (Lang) Gard of Early in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Early, Iowa. The couple farmed 3 1/2 miles northwest of town until they retired in 1957 and moved into Early. He loved farming and playing cards. He received his education at both Sacred Heart and public grade schools. On January 26,1926 he was united in marriage to Kathryn (Lang) Gard of Early in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Early, Iowa. He enjoyed music, especially singing in the adult choir and did solo work in operettas presented by the choir. In later years he enjoyed playing cards and dominos with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathryn, parents William and Katharina, four brothers, John, Billy, Francis and Edmund, two sisters Mary and Helen and their spouses, one brother-in-law, Ralph Kelley, one grandson Robert Nielsen.
