He. had farmed in the Quimby area most of his life with the exception of a few years of farming, in Minnesota and Oregon. McMurrin retired in 1969 and since then was a Quimby resident. In 1968 his daughter and her husband came to live with him. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Alvis (Dela Jane) Niles of Quimby; a son, Marvin of , Quimby; two brothers, Fenton of Long Beach, Calif., and Ronald of Cherokee; a sister, Mrs. Neva Averill, Portland, Ore.; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Gertrude Schlatman, Minnie Conner and Rose Casey, and two brothers, Lawrence and Robert. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 pm. at the United Methodist Church in Quimby. Rev. Melvin Reth will officiate and burial will be in Silver Township Cemetery. There will be a family prayer service at the church at 12:30 p.m Tuesday. Greenwood Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
