Description	:	ALBERT H. CHRISTMAN was born March 7, 1914 on the Christmann Family homestead in Adams County, ND. He was the second child of eleven boys and four girls born to Henry and Caroline (Kessler) Christmann. Times were hard but always happy. The Christmann's had their own baseball team which Albert was catcher and their minister Rev Boatwright would serve as umpire. Chores were always necessary and sometimes took precedence over school. CHRISTMAN was born March 7, 1914 on the Christmann Family homestead in Adams County, ND. He was the second child of eleven boys and four girls born to Henry and Caroline (Kessler) Christmann. Times were hard but always happy. The Christmann's had their own baseball team which Albert was catcher and their minister Rev Boatwright would serve as umpire. Chores were always necessary and sometimes took precedence over school. Every two days, Carrie baked 16 loaves of bread from flour milled at Mott. Henry would take a double load of wheat to the mill and it was put in 100 pound bags. It was Albert's job to carry it upstairs for storage in a bedroom closet. Albert attended grades one through eight at Davison School and continued his education at Minot Bible College where he met Christine Vik. Albert and Christine were united in marriage on February 10, 1940 on the Christmann Homestead in Adams County. They moved to Whitehall, MT where Albert worked at a creamery. At the start of WWII, they moved to Wallace, ID where Albert worked in the lead mines. In 1947, they returned to Gilstrap Township in Adams County where they began farming and ranching together. Two sons, Ray and Rod where born to this union. During the hail and dry years, he sold Raleigh Products, Electrolux vacuum cleaners, and did a lot of house painting in the area and at Rapid City and Minot Air Force Bases. Albert loved sports and watching his sons participate in there sporting activities. At age 65, he even enjoyed water skiing. Albert and Christine continued to live on the same place until the fall of 2002, when they moved into Lemmon. Albert was active in community affairs, was a member of the Prairie Hills Church of God since June of 1951, a long-time Gilstrap Township Board member, and a patriarch of the Christman Family. Albert passed away early Sunday morning, January 7, at Five Counties Nursing Home in Lemmon at the age of 92 years, 10 months. Surviving family members include his wife Christine, Lemmon; 2 sons and 1 daughter-in-law, Ray Christman, Denver, CO; Rod and Wendy Christman, Clark, SD; 2 grandchildren, Kyle and Kallan; 2 step grandchildren, Lee and Kirsten; 2 step great grandchildren, Maddy and T.J.; 2 brothers and 5 sisters-in-law, Marvin and Janelle Christman, Afton Hills, MN and Tuscon, AZ; Arthur and Marilyn Christman, Meadow, SD; Bonnie Christman, Hettinger, ND; Burl Christman, Spokane, WA; Edith and her husband Leon Brodie, Lemmon, SD; 2 sisters and 4 brothers-in-law, Lillian and Ed Nelson, Brooklyn Park, MN; Ruth and Jens Hanson, Meadow, SD; William Oberlander, Hazen, ND; Leonard Peterson, Lemmon, SD; and numerous nieces and nephews. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, 8 brothers, John, Edwin, Henry Jr., Emanuel, Chris, Raymond, Elmer, Walter Christman; 2 sisters, Martha Oberlander and Alvina Peterson. Funeral services for Albert Christman, age 92 of Lemmon, will be Thursday, January 11, at the Prairie Hills Church of God in Lemmon. Pastor Steve Thomas will officiate with burial in Greenhill Cemetery at Lemmon. Special music will be provided by Cora Fried, pianist. Lindsay, Grant, and Tiffany Peterson will sing "Do Lord/I'll Fly Away," Marlin Peterson will sing "Amazing Grace" accompanied by Leslie Peterson; Aaron Christman will sing "Because He Lives," Darrel Klitzke will sing "That's What Jesus Means to Me," Marvine Obermier and Pam VanGilder will sing "We Have This Moment Today," Pastor Alan Hathaway will sing "Ship Ahoy" and Cora Fried will sing "Finally Home," and the congregation "Blessed Assurance" and "How Great Thou Art." Serving as casket bearers are Larry Goodmanson, Mark Evans, Mark Peterson, Kyle Christman, Kallan Christman, Todd Christman, Quentin Christman, Leaun Peterson, David Christman, and Leon Brodie.
